„connected sounds“ [v6]
Room-Staging by Max Joy

The unexpected atmosphere of sounds, light, and scents catches the audience by suprise, as they ascend the staircase to the rooftop restaurant. There, they can leave behind the Superbooth-exhibitor’s bustling-nerdy ambience, to immerse themselves into a different world. Settling in the deck-chairs scattered across the roof terrace, they can perceive the „real“ world / nature, and savor it. Yet even during their transit through the staircase, they will find their senses pleasently eased, and at the same time sharpened and stimulated.

The sounds can move around in space or connect over distance: „connected sounds“.
The fragrances, however, have their fixed places in the room. Ascending or decending the staircase, the visitor, on the time level, will stride through a chord of scents, manufactured exclusively with the natural essences of herbs or flowers. Each scent-station features nothing but pure, solitary fragrances or a combination of two - none of the conventional fragrance mixes.
Most of the sounds consist of staged sound recordings, urban atmospheres, collaged, sometimes electronically enhanced or combined with synthetic sounds. The composition challenges established expectations and structures, such as loops or coincidence, by sensitizing the audience’s perception and recollection through similar, but not exactly the same loops and sound variations.

Each visitor will experience their individual mix of music and scents by their distinct movement in space.
