Daniel Miller

Daniel Miller is one of the most influential figures in electronic music since the late 1970s. When electronic instruments got cheaper, he predicted the shift from guitars to synthesizers. 1978 Miller released the 7“ „Warm Leatherette / T.V.O.D.“ as The Normal on his label Mute, one year later he signed Fad Gadget. At one of Fad Gadget’s concerts Miller discovered Depeche Mode, who played as support. Until today, Depeche Mode released every single studio album on Mute, Miller produced them until 1988. Depeche Mode’s second single „New Life“ became a major hit. In further years Miller signed bands and artists like The Birthday Party, Nick Cave, Erasure, DAF and Einstürzende Neubauten.

On Superbooth19, Daniel Miller will play one of his rare modular sets.
